Free membership of the Heart of Newhaven Community SCIO 49919

Who can become a member of Heart of Newhaven Community ?

Let’s make this simple. There are three basic categories of membership.

If you live within the designated area, are entitled to vote in local elections in that same area and are over 16 years of age, you can become an Ordinary Member with voting rights.

If you live outside the designated area but agree with the principles of the HoNC and wish to get involved then you can become an Associate Member. This gives you the right to attend meetings and contribute to discussions but not to vote.

If you are aged between 12 and 15 and support the objectives and activities of HoNC then you can become a Junior Member. Junior Members will not be able to vote at meetings.

What about organisations. Can they join?

Any incorporated organisation, for example another SCIO, no matter where based, can become an Associate Member as long as they support the aims and objectives of HoNC. An organisation which is not incorporated can nominate one person to become an Associate Member.

If you’d like more detailed information, our SCIO Constitution is available HERE
